Crex Crane Fest Medallion Hunt Begins

Grantsburg, WI – Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area is hosting a medallion hunt this fall in conjunction with our Fall Crane Fest October 10, 2015.  To claim the grand prize of $100 for finding the medallion you can purchase a button for $5.  You can purchase a button beginning September 19th at Grantoberfest from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the fairgrounds in Grantsburg, WI, and also beginning the same day at the Crex Meadows Wildlife Education and Visitor Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday or during the week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Buttons will remain on sale throughout the duration of the hunt until October 10. Participants may pick up a set of rules when purchasing a button, or find them at www.crexmeadows.org/

The medallion will be hidden within the property boundaries of Crex Meadows Wildlife Area on public land.  It will not be hidden underground or anywhere that requires climbing, in any building or in any body of water. Clues will be posted at the Crex Meadows Wildlife Education and Visitor Center and on the website on Tuesdays and Fridays until the medallion is found.  The first clue will be published on Tuesday, September 22.  The last clue will be posted on Friday, October 9th.  If the medallion is not found by Saturday, October 10, the hunt will be over and the prize will be rolled over to the next year's hunt.
